Translation: The Almighty God says: Scholars know the renunciation of desirable deeds as sannyas, and the wise ones call renunciation of all karma as renunciation.







Tyajyang doshabadityake karma prahurmanisinah.

Translation: A class of scholars say that action is faulty, therefore it is abandoned. Another class of scholars has decided that the practice of Yajna, Dan, Tapasya, etc., is superfluous.

Na dvestyakusalang karma kushale nanusajjate.

Translation: Therefore, without considering the five causes of action, the one who considers himself to be the doer, due to lack of intellect, cannot properly show that misfortune.


Yasya nahankrto bhabo buddhiryasya na lipyate.


Hatvapi sa emallokanna hanti na nibadhyate..18 ..


Translation: He who has no sense of pride and whose intellect does not engage in karma, does not kill all these animals by killing them and is not bound by the karma of killing.


Gyanang jnayang parijnata tribidha karmachodana.


Because karma karteti trividhah karmasangraha: .. 18 ..


Translation: Knowledge, cognizance and cognition - the motivation, action, action and doer of these three actions - the shelter of these three actions.

Translation: And the trivial knowledge by which knowledge, without knowing the real theory, gives rise to addiction like the fulfillment of a particular action, is called tamasic knowledge.


Niyatang sangarahitamaragadbesatah kritam.


Offalprepsuna karma yattatsattvikamuchyate..23 ..


Translation: The daily deed which is performed without desire and attachment to the fruit and without anger and envy is called sattvic deed.


Yattu kamepsuna karma sahankarena or re.


Kriyate bahulayasanga tad rajasamudahrtam..24 ..


Translation: But the action which is performed with great difficulty by being arrogant and fruitful, is called majestic.

Anubdhang ksayang hinsamanpekshya cha paurusham.


Mohadarbhyate karma yattattamsamuchyate..25 ..


Translation: The action that is performed out of love without considering the future bond, loss of religious knowledge, violence and the consequences of one's own ability, is called tamasic action.

Muktasangohanhangvadi dhrtyutsahasamnbitah.


Siddhyasiddhyornirbikarah karta sattvik uchyate..26 ..


Translation: Free from all inanimate addictions, without arrogance, with concentration and enthusiasm, and unmoved in perfection and imperfection - such a doer is called Sattvik.

Rahi karmaphalaprepsurlubdho hinsatmakohshuchih.


Harshasokanbitah karta rajasah parikirtitah..26 ..


Translation: The lord who is addicted to karma, aspiring for karma, greedy, violent, unclean, happy and sad, is said to be a majestic lord.

Ayuktah prakritah stabdhah shatho niskritikohalasah.

Translation: O Perth! Tamasiki is the intellect which considers darkness as the opposite of religion and all things.


Dhrtya yaya dharayate manahpranendriyakriyah.


Yogenavyavicharinya Dhriti: Sa Perth Sattviki..33 ..


Translation: O Perth! Sattviki is the indestructible dhriti that contains all the activities of the mind, soul and senses by the practice of yoga.


Yaya tu dharmakamarthan dhrtya dharayateharjun.


Prasangen phalakankshi dhritih sa perth rajasi..34 ..


Translation: O Arjun! O Perth! The dhriti that contains religion, money and work with fruitful desire, that dhriti is majestic.

Sukhang tbidaning tribidhang shrunu me bharatarsabha.

Translation: Shama, Dum, Tapa, Shaucha, Ksanti, Simplicity, Knowledge, Science and Astikya are the natural actions of Brahmins.

Danmishvarabhavasca ksatrang karma swabhavajam..43 ..


Translation: Courage, vigor, perseverance, skill, ability to fight, giving and ruling power - these are the innate deeds of Kshatriyas.

Swe sve karmanyabhiratah sansiddhing lavate narah.


Swakarmaniratah siddhing yatha bindati tachrinu..45 ..


Translation: People who are engaged in their own deeds attain perfection. Listen to the way people who are involved in their work attain perfection.

Yatah prabrittirbhutanang yen sarvamidang tatam.


Swakarmana tamavyarchya siddhing bindati manabah..48 ..


Translation: The one from whom all living beings have pre-existing instincts, the one who pervades the whole world, is attained by man by his own deeds.

Shreyan swadharmo bigun pardharmat svanusthitat.


Swabhabaniyatang karma kurbannapnoti kilbisham..48 ..


Translation: Swadharma held in an unequal form is better than a good religion held in a good form. No sin is obtained by human nature.


Sahajang karma kaunteya sadoshampi na tyajet.


Sarvarambha hi doshen dhumenagniribabrta: ..48 ..


Translation: O Kaunteya! Instinctive actions should not be abandoned even if they are faulty. Just as fire is covered by smoke, so all actions are covered by guilt.

Translation: A person who is not addicted to inanimate things, who has a restrained mind and who is not interested in enjoyment, attains the ultimate fulfillment in the form of non-action by giving up action.
