Putna Badh-Krishnalila Kahini-Srimadbhagavata

Putna Badh-Krishna Leela story

Although Lord Krishna was the son of Devaki and Basudev, Basudev could not enjoy the birth of Lord Krishna due to the oppression of Kangsa. But Nanda Maharaj, the foster-father of Lord Krishna, celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna with great joy.

The next day it was announced that Yashoda had a son. According to the Vedic tradition, Nanda Maharaj invited astrologers and Brahmins to celebrate the birth anniversary. After the birth of the child, the astrologers calculated his birth and made a horoscope.

After the birth, Nanda Maharaj decided to go to Mathura to pay taxes to Kangsa. Before leaving, he called all the able gopas and asked them to take care of Vrindavan in his absence.

On hearing the news of Nanda Maharaj's arrival, Basudev became anxious to congratulate his friend. He immediately went to meet Nanda Maharaj.

When Basudev saw Nanda Maharaj, he felt as if he had been revived. Excited, Nanda Maharaj immediately stood up and embraced Basudev.

He greeted Basudev warmly and allowed him to sit down. At that time Basudev became anxious to get the news of his two sons who were under his care without the knowledge of Nanda Maharaj. Anxious, Basudev asked them.

Both Krishna and Balarama were children of Basudev. Balaram was transferred to Rohini's womb. Rohini was Basudeb's wife but Rohini was kept under the care of Nanda Maharaj for torturing Kangs.

Basudev then said to him, "You are very old and you are desperate to have a son because you have no son. Now by the grace of God you have got a wonderful son.

I think this incident is very good for you. Brother Nanda, I was imprisoned in Kangs prison, but now I am free; So I feel like I've been revived. I had no hope of seeing you again.

Basudev asked, “Please tell me about all the people of Vrindavan. You have a lot of pets, are they all happy? Are they all getting enough grass and water? Is the place where you are safe and peaceful?

Basudev asked this question because he was very worried about the safety of Lord Krishna. He knew that Kangsa and his followers were sending demons and demons to kill Krishna. They had already decided that all the children born within ten days of the birth of Lord Krishna should be killed. Since Basudev was very concerned for the safety of Lord Krishna,

Hearing that, Nanda Maharaj said, “Dear Basudev, I know that you are very much hurt. Because Kangs has killed so many children of you and Devaki. Although the last child was a daughter, Kangs could not kill her, and she returned to heaven.

Dear friend Basudev, do not be sorry; We are all guided by destiny. Everyone reaps the fruits of his deeds, and he who is aware of the deeds and their fruits is the knower of the truth. He never gets upset about anything. He is always steadfast in happiness and sorrow.

As Nanda Maharaj was returning home, he kept thinking of Basudev's advice. Basudev said, there could be any trouble that day. Basudev must have given this advice for his own good, and Basudev's words should never be untrue.

So in fear he began to remember the Supreme Lord. It is very normal for a devotee to take refuge in God in times of danger, because he has no other refuge. When a child is in danger, he takes refuge in his father or mother. Such a devotee always seeks refuge in the Supreme Lord. When he faced any special danger, he kept remembering God.

Putna of Kangsa sent to Rakshasi

Kangs, after consulting with his demonic ministers, ordered a demon named Putna to kill all the children in the town, village and pasture. Where the name of God is not chanted, only then can all these magical demons exert their magic.

It is said in the scriptures that where the name of God is also glorified in Helavar, the plague of ghosts and demons and various calamities are immediately removed from there. And where the name of Lord Krishna is chanted with fervent devotion, there is no such thing, especially in Vrindavan, where the Supreme Lord Himself was present.

So this fear of Nanda Maharaj is only an expression of his affection for Lord Krishna. In fact, no matter how strong Putna was, there was nothing to fear. Such vampires are called ‘khechri’ meaning they can fly in the sky.

This type of vampire is still practiced by some women in some of the deepest provinces of northwestern India. They can move from one place to another on the branches of uprooted trees. Putna knew that lore, for which reason he is described as 'Khechari' in Srimad-Bhagavatam.

Putna enters the house of Nanda Maharaj in Gokul without permission. He entered the house of Yashoda's mother in the form of a very beautiful lady. Papini Putna knew all kinds of magic. Under the influence of that magic, he dressed up as a beautiful young woman. She was adorned with beautiful buttocks, chin straps, earrings and a garland around her hair. Her slender waist made her special.

He frowned and looked at everyone with a gentle smile, and all the people of Braj were fascinated by his appearance. The simple gopikas thought that Lakshi Devi herself had come to Vrindavan with a lotus flower in her hand. They think that Lakshmi Devi has come to visit her husband Krishna.

No one stopped him from seeing Putna's beautiful face, and he entered the house of Nanda Maharaj without any hindrance. The infant Putna saw that Krishna was lying on a bed and she realized that there was an invincible power in that child. Putna thought, "This child is so powerful that in an instant he can destroy the whole universe."

This idea of Putna is very significant. The Supreme Lord Krishna is present in the hearts of all. It is said in the Bhagavad Gita that he is the one who bestows memory, knowledge, and wisdom, and he is the one who kidnaps them. Putna realized that the child she was visiting in Nanda Maharaj's house was the Supreme Lord Himself.

Although she is lying on the couch in the form of a baby, she is not weak. The idea of materialists - yoga, austerities, etc., no living being can ever be God. God is God in all situations. Even as a child, Lord Krishna is as omnipotent as the fully developed young Krishna.

According to the Mayavadi doctrine, the creature was formerly God but is now influenced by Maya. So they say that at present they are not gods, but when they are free from the influence of Maya, they will become gods again. This idea is completely wrong. The living being is a molecule of different parts of the Supreme Lord. Just like the spark of fire is a different part of fire, the living being is also a different part of God, he can never be a huge fire in the form of Lord Krishna. Although Basudev and Devaki appear as children, Lord Krishna is the perfect Purushottama Parameswara Bhagavan.

Like a small child, Krishna closed his eyes, as if he did not want to see Putna's face. Devotees have variously analyzed the reasons for closing the eyes of Lord Krishna. Many say that Lord Krishna closed his mouth because he did not want to see the face of Putini Putna, who has now come with the intention of killing him.

Some even said that he was going to do something unusual, so he closed his eyes so that Putna would not be afraid.

Many also say that Lord Krishna appeared to slay the demons and to protect the devotees, which is described in the Bhagavad Gita asThe first demon he was going to slay was a woman, and even though it was forbidden according to the Vedic scriptures, Krishna was forced to kill Putna, so he could not close his eyes.

Some say that Putna thought that Krishna was his midwife, so Krishna closed his eyes. Putna came to give her breast to God. Lord Krishna was so merciful that even though he knew that Putna had come with the intention of killing him, he still accepted her as his midwife or mother. According to the Vedic instructions, there are seven types of mothers - pregnant mothers, Guru's wives, queens, Brahmin wives, cows, midwives and earthlings. Since Putna took Krishna in her arms and gave him breasts to drink from her breast milk, Krishna accepted her as his mother. This is another reason to close his eyes; Kanena he was going to kill his midwife Mata. But killing his midwife is no different from his love for Yashoda as his pregnant mother or nurturer.

From the Vedic scriptures we learn that Lord Krishna took Putna as his mother and gave her the privilege of being attached to him in Batsalyaras like mother Yashoda. He freed Putna from the bondage of inanimate objects. When Lord Krishna did not know that he himself was carrying death in his lap. When a man picks up a snake like a rope, his death is inevitable, just as Putna killed innumerable children before coming to Krishna, but he was carrying the snake in his lap as his inevitable death.

When Putna was carrying baby Krishna in her lap, both Rohini and Yashoda were present. But they did not forbid him, for he was adorned with such beautiful ornaments, and without that there was no doubt in their minds that he had shown great affection for Lord Krishna. They did not realize that it was a beautiful shell-covered sword. Putna put a very strong poison on her breast and she immediately took the baby Krishna in her lap and gave him her breast so that she would die as soon as she drank the breast. Lord Krishna, in a fit of rage, immediately sucked the breast and sucked the demon's breath with the milky poison.

Lord Krishna was so merciful that since the demon came to him to give him breast milk, he fulfilled his wish and accepted his activity as motherly. And killed him immediately to stop his heinous activities. And as a result of being killed by Lord Krishna, he was liberated.

When Lord Krishna absorbed his breath, Putna spread his arms and legs, fell to the ground and started shouting, "Let go, let go of me!" When he died while screaming, there was a loud noise all around, the rivers, the hills, the water, the earth trembled. People thought it was lightning all around. Thus ended the horror of Putna Rakshasi.

Then the form of a huge demon appeared. Spreading his arms and legs, he fell to the ground and his face became ha. Just as Vritrasura fell in Indra's thunderbolt, so did Patana fall. The long hair of his head was spread all over his body.

The collapse of his huge body resulted in the destruction of all vegetation across the six-crore area. Everyone was amazed to see her huge body.

The teeth of his mouth were as sharp as the fruit of a plow, his nostrils as deep as a mountain-cavity, his breasts as deep as a rocky cliff, his hair as scattered and copper-colored, his eyes as deep as a dungeon, his thighs as two river banks, It looked like a bridge and its belly looked like a waterless lake. At the sound of his fall, the ears of the gopas and gopikas were pierced and their hearts began to pound.

When the gopikas saw that the child Sri Krishna was fearlessly playing on the chest of the dead demon, they quickly picked him up. Mother Yashoda, Rohini and other elderly gopikas immediately set off on a cow-tail journey, i.e., on the tail of a cow, to protect the baby Krishna from all kinds of obstacles.

He bathed the child with cow urine and twilight and smeared his twelfth limb with cow urine so that he would not have any more misfortunes in future. From this we can understand how important cow is in human society.

Lord Krishna's divine body does not need any defense, but to teach us about the usefulness and necessity of the cow, the Lord bathed in cow dung and twilight and applied cow dung.

After this holy reformation, the Gopikas, led by Mother Yashoda and Rohini, chanted the Twelfth Name of the Lord to protect the body of Lord Krishna from all kinds of disturbances. They washed their hands and feet and struck three times, which is the precedent for chanting mantras.

They said, "Manidan, protect your knees, Yajna, protect your thighs." Achyut, protect your waist, may you protect your stomach, Keshab, protect your heart, Vishnu, protect your arms,

God protect your head, Chakradhar protect your front, Gadadhar protect your back, Archer Madhusudan protect your sight, Conch holder protect your left side; Upendra protect your surface; Protect you on the rough ground;

Haldhar protect you from all around; Hrishikesh, protect your senses; Narayan, save your life; And white-headed Narayana protect your heart; And God protect your mind; Protect your intellect in question;

And God save your soul; And when you are asleep; Then Madhav, save you. May Vaikuntha protect you from falling while you are passing, may Sripati protect you from sitting and may Yajneshwar protect you from eating. ”

In this way mother Yashoda started chanting different names of Vishnu to protect different parts of Krishna. Mother Yashoda was a firm believer that Lord Krishna must be protected from the influence of demons, jatudhani, kushmand, yaksha, raksas, binayak, kotra, revati, jyeshtha, putna, matrika, insanity, etc.

As a result, people forget about their existence. Sometimes they cause great trouble even in dreams; Sometimes they come in the form of old women and drink the blood of children. But where the name of God is chanted, they cannot be there.

Mother Yashoda had full faith in the greatness of the names Gavi and Bhagavan and the Vedic instruction, so she relied entirely on Gavi to protect her infant son Krishna and took refuge in the name of Vishnu.

He chanted the divine names of Vishnu to protect his infant son. Vedic culture has from time immemorial been taking advantage of cow protection and chanting of the name of God. Those who follow the Vedic tradition, especially the householders, keep at least twelve cows in their house and worship the archabigraha of Lord Vishnu.

The old gopikas of Vrindavan were so engrossed in their love for Lord Krishna that they became anxious to save him, even though there was no need to protect him; Because he has already saved himself.

They did not know that Lord Krishna is the Supreme Lord, and now He is playing with them as a child. After all the rituals to save Lord Krishna were completed, mother Yashoda later gave breasts to Lord Krishna to drink her milk.

After chanting the Vishnu mantra, mother Yashoda felt that her child was now completely safe. All the gopেরাs who had already gone to Mathura to pay taxes to the king, came back and were greatly surprised to see the huge body of Putna.

Nanda remembered the prophecy of Maharaja Basudev and thought, He must be a great sage and yogi; If not, how could he talk about this nuisance of Braj from Mathura? Then the people of Braj cut the body of the demon into pieces with an ax and burned it separately.

The fragrant smoke was rising. This implies that Putna was freed from all her sins and received the divine body. From this it is understood that the Supreme Lord is the Most Beneficent; Putna came to kill Lord Krishna, but since Lord Krishna drank Putna's breast, Putna was freed from all his sins and his corpse also became divine.

His only job was to kill children. She was bloodthirsty, but despite her hatred for Krishna, she was liberated because she suckled Krishna. So we can easily guess how fortunate are those who love God in the same way as fathers and mothers in faith and devotion.

The pure devotee always serves Lord Krishna with deep affection and love. Because he knows that Lord Krishna is the Supreme Lord. He is the Supreme Being of all beings. Therefore, it is said that if one makes even a small effort in the service of God, then the benefit he gets is beyond imagination. It has been said in the Bhagavad Gita, "Shatalpampyasya dharmasya tryate mahto bhayat" meaning a little bit of bhagavat-seva saves us from great fear.

Devotion to God is so wonderful that even if we do a little service to God knowingly or unknowingly, we cannot imagine the great benefits that result. If we take the flower of a tree and offer it to the worship of Lord Krishna, then the great welfare of that tree is also achieved. In this way, when flowers are offered in the worship of Lord Krishna, all the trees that bear those fruits and flowers, unknowingly attain good fortune. So the effect of worship is good for everyone.

Lord Krishna, Brahma, Shiva and other great deities were also deities and Putna was so fortunate that in his crore he played as a child. The sage-sage meditating on the lotus feet of Lord Krishna touched Putna's body. People offered various foods to Lord Krishna in devotion, and Lord Krishna voluntarily sucked Putna. The devotees therefore pray that if Putna can attain such good fortune as a result of giving something to Lord Krishna out of enmity, then who can imagine the benefit of worshiping Lord Krishna in devotion.

That is why there should be unreasonable devotion to Lord Krishna. Although Putna was a demon, she was the mother of the Supreme Lord. From this it is understood that all the gopikaras and cows who gave milk to Lord Krishna must have entered the unnatural world.

From liberation to whatever our senses are, Lord Krishna can give it to anyone. Therefore, when Lord Krishna suckled Putna, there could be no doubt about Putna's release. So what is the doubt about the emancipation of the gopikas who are very devoted to Lord Krishna? All the gopis and cows who served Krishna with deep love and affection were freed from the misery of the inanimate world.

Smelling the smoke of Putna's cheetah fire, the people of Braj were amazed and asked each other, where is this fragrance coming from? Eventually they realized that this fragrance was coming from Putna's burnt body. They all loved Lord Krishna more than life. So after Putanabadha they blessed Lord Krishna endlessly. After burning Putna, Nanda Maharaj returned to the house and put the baby Krishna on his lap and started sniffing his head again and again. Thus he became convinced of the protection of Lord Krishna.

Srila Shukadev Goswami blessed all the listeners who heard the news of Putna massacre by Sri Krishna. All these listeners will surely get unreasonable and irresistible devotion to Govinda's Sricharanaravinda
